Quote by Mary Austin

“We are not all born at once, but by bits. The body first, and the spirit later… Our mothers are racked with the pains of our physical birth; we ourselves suffer the longer pains of our spiritual growth.”

If only all little surprises…

If only all of life’s little surprises looked like this…

Real suffering exists in this world.  Let us not forget.  To whom much is given, much is expected in return.

…may our lives bring comfort and joy to those who suffer…

Poke out your eyes…

God does not desire that we cut off our hands, nor that we poke out our eyes.  Rather, God implores us to keep our hands from clutching to evil, and to keep our eyes turned away from temptation.

(From the homily this morning.)

Lord have mercy.

Where He Answers Her Questions

  1.  Yes, he cares what she has to say.  Very much so.
  2.  He is praying for her, always.
  3.  In her struggles, she is not alone.  No matter how she feels, she can turn to him.
  4.  Please remember, He didn’t change.  He is still here, just like he always has been.
  5.  He too feels many of the same things she is feeling.
  6.  He has similar frustrations.
  7.  He has similar fears.
  8.  He remembers that they used to share those fears and frustrations together.
  9.  He remembers that they used to support each other through those challenges.
  10.  He remembers the fun times with her- there were so many.
  11.  She can hold to hope, and know that she is dear to him.  She can believe.

He feels… She feels…

She feels like this:

He feels like this:

May she see that what looks like a barren forest is actually life amidst beautiful flowers of hope, if only she looks skyward… May he see that the train, though moving oh so slowly, is moving somewhere… And someday he will exit that train…
